About the Author
Brant Secunda is a world-renowned shaman, healer, and teacher in the Huichol Indian tradition of Mexico. He is the director of the Dance of the Deer Foundation Center for Shamanic Studies in Santa Cruz, California;�a�founding member of the American Herbalist Guild; and the cofounder, alongside�former President Jimmy Carter and Desmond Tutu,�of the Peace University of Berlin. He lives in Soquel, California. Mark Allen is a six-time Ironman champion and was named Greatest Triathlete of All Time by Triathlete Magazine. He lives in Santa Cruz, California.

Fell a little short

There is a lot of decent self-help information in the book. But as with all books of this type I feel it lacks a certain amount of depth. Yes, I understand the importance of visualization, being in tune with your body, and tapping into the energy of nature. I did glean some good information on the spiritual side of fitness, but for all the rave reviews, it fell a little short of my expectations. Maybe I need to find more time in my packed Tri training schedule to fit in more meditation, but with work, family, training, and life in general, that is like squeezing blood from a turnip.

A perfect complement to technically oriented triathletes

If you wonder what you're missing to take you to that next level, read this. It's exactly what you need.
While I don't necessarily share the spiritual views contained in this book (like thanking stones), it is easy enough to adapt to my on worldview, mindset and spiritual beliefs. If you are secure in your own, you will find this book a wealth of of wisdom for your triathlon career.

Absolutely fabulous and motivating for someone to help them focus on the goals. This book is supportive to anyone in any area who wishes to move forward in their personal and professional life. When goals are made and changes in life need to occur, it is a total inside and outside need to focus. It is a total MUST read! I recommend this book for everyone!
